Greedy Guns - making the bad guys look bad
First Half Hour of Gameplay
After Amaze Fest 2014 in Berlin we got a a lot of feedback to think about. The first thing we wanted to do was get a nice first half hour flow that would better represent the game. We’ve been working very hard on it and we are one mini-boss and one big boss away from finishing it.
But before we bore you to death with details, here’s some ACTION and new enemies!
Changes to enemies. Making them look bad!
Check out some changes we’ve been making to some the purple eggplant:
Maybe it doesn’t look as cute, but at least you know it’s going to hurt you. The first one didn’t bite so it made little sense to actually take damage from such a small little thing.
Here is its new attack. Now when it gets near the player it jiggles before it strikes. This is good specially for early levels when the player is still new to the controls. This way we can still deliver a nice overflowing number of enemies without being overwhelming.
New set pieces
There a a few new decorations and set pieces. Today we are showing the totems. Who made them? What are they for? You’ll have to play Greedy Guns to find out 🙂
Also new are the doors. These require a key that is somewhere in the map. Where doing something really fun with the keys but more on that when we have the player animations in place.
